luving the little ladies

When Ryn woke up this morning, the first thing she wanted to do was check on the hens.
The kids learned how to catch the hens from Esme (our friend from The green gate)

We really are hoping to fence that side of the property in so that the hens and kids can be free range.

I really think the little ladies (which have all been named by Ryn...names and pics to come later) enjoy being held by the kids. After the initial catch, they are very docile in their arms. I really like this breed of chicken. These are called bearded americanas. They lay blue, green and pink eggs.
